Cocktails We Love for Valentine’s Day

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re mixing up love potions. These cocktails – gathered from Kimpton’s lounge, bar and restaurant menus across the country – are festively red and known to set the mood for romance.

If you can’t make it out to see us before the holiday, make your own at home. We’re giving you the recipes – and cupid’s blessing.

Naughty Red Dress
From Starlight Room, San Francisco (mixologist Joel Teitelbaum)

1 ½ oz. Skyy vodka
½ oz. Blood Orange Cordial
½ oz. Aperol
Prosecco

Shake ingredients and serve with a long lemon twist in a champagne flute.

Blushing Fizz
From Saltbox, San Diego (mixologist Erin Williams)

3 strawberries
2 slices of cucumber
1 sprig of mint
1 ½ oz. Cointreau
¾ oz. Hendrick’s Gin
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
Splash of club soda

Muddle cucumber strawberries and mint.

Combine all ingredients (except club soda) in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.

Strain over fresh ice through a fine mesh strainer.

Garnish with a cucumber slice and a sprig of mint.

Top with club soda.

Just Beet It
Poste Moderne Brasserie, Washington D.C. (mixologist Jason Wiles)

1 ½ oz. Grey Goose vodka
¼ oz. lemon juice
¼ oz. beet juice
½ oz. simple syrup

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass.

Garnish with beet salt.

Controne Kiss
Tulio Ristorante, Seattle (mixologist Sheri Kelly)

2 oz. Herradura Silver tequila
1 oz. White Crème de Cocoa
½ oz. Crème de Cassis
Pinch of chocolate chili bitters

Shake all ingredients and serve in small martini glass with a Controne chili-sugar rim.
