He’s large and in charge. He’s also bright red.
We’re talking about the huge statue of a Beefeater that presides over Bar Drake at Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. If you’ve visited the hotel, you probably remember him. Only not by name — because he doesn’t have one!
That’s where you come in. Now through April 4, the hotel is running a contest to name that “Big Red Guy.” It’s open to the public and hotel guests. Simply drum up a name and enter it through Sir Francis Drake’s Facebook page at facebook.com/SirFrancisDrake.
The lucky winner scores dinner for two at Scala’s Bistro, passes to Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, and a room at the Drake to crash in afterward.
