Enjoy a Design-Forward LA Pride Celebration at Kimpton La Peer

Destinations

At Kimpton, Pride is more than a party. It’s at the core of who we are. We’ll take any chance to support and celebrate our LGBTQ team members and guests – and yes: we’re also here for any excuse to shake a cocktail with queer friends and allies.

This is true for all Kimpton hotels, but today we want to shine a light on all the beauty that is LA Pride.

This year, West Hollywood’s Kimpton La Peer is designing your ideal LA Pride weekend, with a rooms package that includes all three of its featured Pride events, spanning June 7–9. Each event ticket can be purchased separately on Eventbrite (see La Peer Pride by Design), and will celebrate art, design, and music alongside the playfulness the Kimpton La Peer is known for. This is your chance to experience a sophisticated new contribution to the LA Pride lineup.

Celebrate 49 Years of Pride in LA, June 7–9

LA has always occupied a special place in the LGBTQ community – but a long history of vibrancy and activism aren’t the only reasons to visit.

LA Pride is celebrating 49 years, starting with a week-long lead-up to the festival and parade (keep an eye on the Facebook page and Events page). The West Hollywood Park festival’s star-studded lineup doesn’t disappoint: LGBTQ and ally performances will run across three stages, featuring a welcome ceremony with Paula Abdul and headliners Meghan Trainor and Years & Years (peep the full lineup here). The party will also host the Trans Galeria, Erotic City, and Sizzle (alcohol- and substance-free activities).

This year, the festival will burst from its historic West Hollywood Park boundaries with “Pride on the Boulevard,” a free-to-the-public block party from 12–7pm Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s parade will streak glitz and glam down Santa Monica Boulevard.

LA culture has always been intertwined with LGBTQ culture – and things are just getting better around here. Extend your stay to sample more of LA. Hit new gay bars. Join the steaks-and-celeb-sightings scene at Craig’s or try the retro Roman fare at Cecconi’s. Shop local boutiques and world-class designers. And get some of America’s best tacos at…too many places to name (though we’ll put in a plug for the plant-based menu at Gracias Madre). Head to the beach, head to the hills, or stick around to enjoy WeHo’s Boystown nightlife.

Find Art, Design and Pride at the La Peer

The La Peer team is a big supporter of their LGBTQ team members and friends. They also love hanging out with guests on the rooftop deck, throwing cocktail parties, and enjoying art alongside locals and visitors. That’s why the Kimpton La Peer Hotel is working closely with LA Pride this year to put on their most elaborate and thoughtfully-curated Pride celebration yet.

Located in the heart of the walkable Design District, the Kimpton La Peer is just a five-minute stroll to the West Hollywood Park festival and so many other hot spots – though once you check in, you might not want to leave.

Friday night from 6–9pm, you can kick off the weekend at Pride Unplugged, a singer-songwriter showcase of emerging LBGTQ artists and close allies. It will be all acoustic, all intimate vibes – and you’ll enjoy the music while moving between the Kimpton La Peer’s temperature-controlled rooftop pavilion and the open-air terrace overlooking the Hollywood Hills. Talk about a stunning start to a memorable weekend.

Saturday, head to the rooftop deck again for yoga – or just sleep in. Then drop in on the Pride “Tea” Party & Runway Show between 1–5pm. The courtyard will fill with craft cocktails served in tea cups – no saucers required. They’ll also serve up light snacks, infused iced teas, and other nonalcoholic drinks. After the parade Sunday, head back to the hotel for Pride Art & Wine, a gallery show taking over the Kimpton La Peer’s entire ground floor and sprawling into their outdoor patio. In honor of LA’s 49th year of Pride, the entire 8,000 square feet of the lobby living room and patio will fill with works of art paired with wine.

If you’re focused on feeling healthy and grounded throughout Pride weekend, the Kimpton La Peer Hotel has got you covered: In addition to holding space for rooftop yoga, they’re partnering with Little West to serve cold pressed juices, available at the front desk throughout the weekend.

At the Kimpton La Peer Hotel’s Pride celebration, you’ll not only have a great time – you’ll feel well cared for, all weekend long.
