How to Pair Wine with Chocolate

Eat + Drink

It’s Valentine’s Day, so I want to share something especially sweet.

I was recently interviewed by NBC Bay Area’s The Feast about how to pair wine with chocolate.

Want the CliffsNotes version? Here are the main points I discussed:

* Make sure the wine you’re drinking is as sweet as the chocolate.

* Milk chocolates work well with Tawny Ports, like Dow’s 20-Year.

* Dark chocolates jive with big berry-flavored wines such as Zinfandel, which has the taste of raspberry and black cherry.

* Experiment. Play around. It’s all about having fun!

Here’s to drinking with heart!
