Wine makes us feel all warm and fuzzy.
No, that’s not the alcohol talking. Kimpton hotels serve wines you can truly feel good about drinking – not just because they are rich in flavor and character, but because they’re made with love of the environment and their makers are known to support charitable causes. We have a program to spotlight these mindful pours. It’s called Wines That Care.
Wines That Care are selected by Kimpton’s Master Sommelier Emily Wines (judging by her name, she’s a total natural). They are served at our hosted evening wine hours, typically held every day at 5 p.m. in the majority of our hotels’ living room lobbies. True to the tradition our founder, Bill Kimpton, began 25 years ago, wine hour gives guests a well deserved moment to kick back, get introduced to a great new vino, and enjoy some sparkling conversation.
Each month, we introduce a new featured winery, and pour a selected red and white from it. Here’s what you can enjoy the rest of this year.
September: Camelot Cabernet and Chardonnay.
{Camelot is devoted to supporting sustainable agriculture.}
October: Sensual Malbec and Torrontez.
{Sensual wines are grown sustainably.}
November: Canyon Road Cabernet and Chardonnay.
{Canyon Road dedicates more than half of its property to wild space to keep the ecosystem in harmony.}
December: Twisted Old Vine Zinfandel and Pinot Grigio.
{Twisted makes sure to keep undeveloped wild spaces around their vineyards.}
Cheers to safe travels – and good-for-the-spirits wine!

Sounds delicious, Glenda. Can you tell us the name of the hotel you were visiting and the date you were there? We’ll try and track it down!
