Kimpton Makes Healthy Travel Easy

Travel Tips

Your travels don’t have to be a trail of broken promises to your exercise and diet routines. In fact, our commitment to your health and wellness not only makes it easy to stay on your program, you just might get fired up to try something new at one of our hotels — like poolside yoga or kickboxing.

We make healthy travel easy with in-room yoga mats that allow you to keep up on your vinyasa without skipping a beat, as well as our fleet of PUBLIC Bikes, free to use at any of our hotels (and the best way to combine sightseeing with a workout). And now we’re adding to the mix by incorporating a variety of healthy perks and wellness-oriented offerings that will inspire and energize you.

PUBLIC Bikes

Our way-cool PUBLIC Bikes are free to use at every hotel.

Cookie-cutter just isn’t Kimpton’s thing so our wellness programs will differ from hotel to hotel. But look to kick-start your day at our morning coffee service with shots of cold-pressed juice or fresh-fruit smoothies, housemade granola, or a DIY trail-mix station. And if you just don’t feel human unless you’ve had your AM run, you should swing by the morning jogging station that’ll help you recover and cool down with fruit-infused water and chilled towels.

When those afternoon doldrums hit, we retaliate with an afternoon pick-me-up like iced elderflower green tea or lavender berry tea. That precedes our ever-popular evening social hour, where our red and white wines will be complemented with a seasonal sangria we’re calling Próxima Estación, which means “Next Station” (National Bar Manager Mike Ryan named it after his favorite album by Latin alternative hero Manu Chao). You just might find popsicles and fresh fruit around, too.

SangriaPróxima Estación
3 bottles white wine, Pinot Grigio or Sancerre
1 orange, sliced into wheels
1 lemon, sliced into wheels
6 ounces Cointreau
8 ounces strawberries, sliced
6 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
1 whole cucumber, sliced
4 ounces white granulated sugar
Combine all ingredients, let sit two days, stir and serve over ice. Serves 6-8.
