Where You Should Travel Next Year Based On Your Astrological Sign

Destinations

Inspired to travel this year but lost about where to go? You could ask your network of family and friends, poke around this blog, or you could leave it to the cosmos and consult the stars: Your astrological sign, that is.

It can serve as a healthy reminder about your values, motivations, and true nature: All important factors in planning a soul-fueling trip. At a minimum, though, it’s just fun.

Let the stars tell you where to travel this year.

Read on for exactly where you should travel this year based on your sign.

Aquarius

Great minds, problem solvers, and novelty seekers, Aquarius can handle cosmopolitan and complex locales alike with absolute finesse. They don’t like to take the same vacation twice, so even if they’ve been to Tokyo before, it’s not a bad place to end up again.

The city is expansive (to put it lightly) and full of neighborhoods with entirely different vibes. Navigating the Tokyo Loop Line to visit posh Ginza, vibrant Harajuku, bustling Shinjuku, and more is not only no problem for these savvy travelers, but they also love doing it.

Where to stay: Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo. Perched atop rooftop bar 86, Aquariuses can map out their next adventure with an aerial view of the city.

Pisces

Naturally calm, practically nothing can throw a Pisces off balance. This strength is like a super-power, allowing them to travel to even the most frenetic of destinations and enjoy the place while remaining totally at ease.

This makes New York City an inspired destination choice for this roll-with-it type of traveler. NYC’s shows, festivals, and magical holiday celebrations help blur the line between fantasy and reality for Pisces, who have characteristically big imaginations.

Aries

Ground breaking and trail blazing are a few of Aries’ hobbies, so naturally, they should lead their crew somewhere new and full-of-action this year. Roatán is that spot.

Competitive Aries signs can push themselves to perfect their diving skills before exploring the underwater world that is the world’s second-largest barrier reef. Blazing trails is easy on adventurous hikes through lush jungle. At the end of it all, Aries will declare a vacation victory by having chosen the best hotel + spa in Roatán, the newly-opened Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort + Spa.

Taurus

If there’s one thing for our Taurus friends to put their foot down on, it’s travel decisions. Well, actually, there are a lot of things they might not budge on, but vacation plans fall near the top of the list. Tauruses know what they like, and we respect that about them.

Destinations with options for recharging – from nature jaunts to spa days – can help these decisive individuals plan the perfect itinerary for themselves. Mallorca, therefore, is ideal for serenity-seeking Tauruses. With the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, pristine waters to dip in, and full-service spas galore, it’s the perfect place for soft sounds and serious relaxation.

Where to stay: Kimpton Aysla Mallorca – and don’t miss the full-service spa and yoga studio on site.

Gemini

Spontaneous, playful, and brimming with curiosity, Geminis want to do it all. Appropriately symbolized by celestial twins, this air sign practically needs to clone itself to tackle everything on their ambitious itinerary.

A place with tons to do (things to learn, foods to try, and neighborhoods to explore) is most soul-serving for our Gemini friends. Washington, DC checks all the boxes. Entertaining, educational, and full of unique, walkable stretches, no Gemini will be bored over several days in DC.

Where to stay: Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC, where a trove of experiences await near the Capital One Arena, National Mall, and Smithsonian museums.

Cancer

Often looking for a room of their own and a place to reflect, our highly introspective Cancer friends love the peace that comes with vacation. As true water signs, the most peaceful places for them are typically coastal. However, Cancers are also deeply moved by beauty and art. San Francisco is the perfect combination.

Right on the beautiful Bay and famous for seafood like oysters and crab (uh oh, is this a conflict of interest?), SF is also bursting with the art (MoMA, Legion of Honor Museum, and more) and culture (dozens of festivals and diverse neighborhoods) that Cancers crave.

Where to stay: The Alton Hotel, and don’t miss taking a stroll down to Aquatic Park to sit on the amphitheater steps and watch boats and swimmers come in and out of the calm (and calming!) waters.

Leo

Both leaders and lovers of people, Leos should round up some friends and travel to Chicago this year. But instead of just any Chicago trip, this one should be extravagant & luxurious, because Leos love that kind of thing.

World class shopping, spas, arts, and dining at some of the best (22 Michelin Stars, count ‘em) restaurants in the world should do the trick. Go on, Leos, this is your year to do it right! Your friends will thank you.

Virgo

Beauty is in the details for observant Virgos, so a destination with interesting architecture, flora, textures, and colors is a true delight. Great places for people watching only add intrigue to the experience for a Virgo.

Lately, it feels like everyone is abuzz about Mexico City because it boasts all of these things and more. Energetic and vivacious, it’s the type of cultural destination that sparks all the senses. Walkable neighborhoods like posh Polanco and leafy Roma are full of colorful nooks and crannies to get familiar with.

Where to stay: Kimpton Virgilio — a brand-new Kimpton opening in the Spring — from which you can plan a day trip to the Museo Frida Kahlo, a historic house and museum dedicated to the life and work of the Mexican artist.

Libra

On a constant hunt for balance, Libras love a travel destination that allows them to unplug from the stressors of everyday life and create some much-needed equilibrium between work and play. Our Libra friends also love being in a state of harmony with nature and the people that surround them.

For that reason, charming Savannah, Georgia is where Libras should spend some quality time this year. Strolling through parks lined with Spanish-Moss-covered trees, chatting with warm and welcoming locals about the culture, and getting out on the water to take in the idyllic beauty of the Lowcountry are a few activities Libras will find especially settling.

Where to stay: Kimpton Brice Hotel, and don’t miss the nightly Social Hour, often held outdoors beneath twinkling string lights.

Scorpio

Dynamic, mysterious, and maybe even a little bit psychic, Scorpios might well be the zodiac sign with the most intrigue. They need a vacation destination that matches their interesting energy while also allowing them to tuck away and discover something new and unusual.

Sagittarius

Oh, the places a Sagittarius goes! They know no bounds and are always on the hunt for adventures, both geographical and intellectual. Their quest for knowledge drives them to new and interesting places, and motivates them to meet people there to find out what makes a place the way it is.

Discover a new city in Toronto. (Photo Credit: Juan Rojas)

That’s why Toronto, the multicultural melting pot on the shores of Lake Ontario, is the perfect place for them to discover. Travelers to Toronto fall hard for this “city of neighborhoods,” which also delivers a bevy of world-class arts, dining, and indie shops. The flourishing cultural scene will make sure Sagittarius has no shortage of unique experiences while in Canada’s largest city.

Where to stay: Kimpton Saint George Hotel, and be sure to explore the local art galleries nearby in Bloor-Yorkville.

Capricorn

Methodical and persevering, once Capricorns figure out where they want to go in life, they are calculated about taking the steps required to get there. They recognize that this may take some time, but their patience and careful planning make them successful in the end.

Bozeman, Montana is the ultimate retreat for goal setting (and achievement): With mountains to climb in the summer and ski in the winter, Capricorns can count on planning their way to a sense of achievement. Once they’ve conquered the slopes, they’ll love having space to plot out big-picture goals back in charming downtown Bozeman, where tucking away into a cool café is easy and enjoyable.
