An Artful Package at Seattle’s Alexis Hotel

Kimpton Buzz

When it comes to matters of the art, Alexis Hotel in Seattle could go on and on. It does, after all, feature several art-themed suites (including Canlis Glass Suite, which we featured here at Life is Suite) and sits near the celebrated Seattle Art Museum (SAM).

More good news: Through April 30, the hotel is offering a package in collaboration with SAM, now playing host to the special exhibit, Gauguin & Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise. The exhibit seduces with close to 60 of the Impressionist artist’s paintings, sculptures and works on paper – all of them related to his complex relationship with the alluring central Pacific region. Seattle is the only North American stop on its world tour.

If you’re planning on coming to town, book Alexis Hotel’s Gauguin in Seattle Art Package, which includes:

  • Four-star accommodations
  • Two discounted VIP passes to Gauguin & Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise at Seattle Art Museum (guaranteed entry)
  • Two Bohemian Drift cocktails from the Bookstore Bar
  • Valet Parking

Alexis Hotel’s Seattle Art Museum Suite

You can up the artful ante by choosing to stay in the hotel’s Seattle Art Museum Suite, a one-bedroom haven that feels like your own private gallery. It showcases pieces from the museum that were handpicked by curator Barbara Shaiman. Rest in the company of paintings by Mark Rediske and Leslie Stoner, abstract monotypes by Rachel Illingworth and Kathryn Trigg, and evocative photographs by Dan Hawkings.

Sure paints a pretty picture, doesn’t it?

Alexis Hotel is located at 1007 First Avenue, Seattle (206-624-4844 or alexishotel.com). To book the Gauguin Package, please use rate code PGAUG when booking.

Thanks for sharing. It looks beautiful! Have you stayed anywhere outside of the city, for example at the Lynnwood Washington Hotel?
