But that’s all changed now with the debut of our new Santa Barbara hotel, The Goodland. Located in Santa Barbara’s under-the-radar sister city of Goleta, The Goodland is where you’ll find all the awesomeness you associate with the best of SoCal.

Located just minutes from the world-class attractions of Santa Barbara — including our own Canary Hotel — The Goodland is designed to be your easy-going coastal haven where you can unwind, unplug and tune-in to the good life. Since we’re situated along the American Riviera, that means flip-flop friendly boutique style in every guestroom and public area, with sense-of-place elements like curated local art.

At The Goodland, we’ve infused a Golden State-of-mind attitude throughout the refurbished hotel, which includes 158 artful, eclectic guestrooms and suites featuring earthy to eccentric textures and fabrics, fused with a dash of surf-culture nostalgia. Think surf lodge meets chic boutique hideaway and you get the idea. You can almost hear the vinyl LP spinning. Which isn’t a stretch actually, considering rooms feature a record player, with a Record Concierge just a phone call away. The creative touches were imagined by a top Southern California design firm and are paired with our signature perks and amenities including complimentary morning coffee and tea, evening social hours flavored with poolside sangria, and flat-screen TVs featuring premium channels.

And with our passion for food, wine and cocktails, we of course had to dive deeply into the amazing boat-to-bistro and farm-to-table goodness available in this corner of California. Headed by Executive Chef Derek Simcik, the hotel’s Outpost restaurant serves up a fresh take on coastal California cuisine seasoned with authentic, locally sourced Santa Barbara sizzle. On the menu you’ll find shareable plates and entrees inspired by south-of-the-border flavors and global street-food. It’s all paired with a stellar collection of Central Coast wines and creative cocktails imagined by our Good Bar staff.
